Evaluation of the Performance Characteristics of Synthetic Fiber-Modified Hot Mix Asphalt

open access: yesCivil and Environmental Engineering
The durability of the pavement is affected by many different factors, such as heavy loads and changes in temperature. Therefore, adding fiber is one of the solutions to strengthen the road’s durability.

Toward a Unified Mechanistic Understanding of Polymer Electrolytes for Advanced Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer electrolytes (PEs) are often indiscriminately grouped as “solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs)”, despite fundamental differences in their ion‐transport mechanisms. This Perspective establishes a mechanism‐based framework that distinguishes gel, quasi‐solid, and all‐solid polymer electrolytes based on their dominant ion‐transport pathways.

Dynamic modelling of landslide susceptibility in response to hydro-meteorological variability in the Himalayas

open access: yesScientific Reports
Landslides can be defined as sudden downslope movement of earth mass and debris under the action of gravitational forces. While rainfall intensity is a well-known trigger, soil moisture plays a critical yet often overlooked role in landslide initiation ...

Effect of Bonding Characteristics on Rutting Resistance and Moisture Susceptibility of Rubberized Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement

open access: yesInfrastructures
Asphalt pavements incorporating recycled and sustainable materials have become a widely adopted strategy in road construction, particularly with the use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and crumb rubber (CR) derived from waste tires.

Nocturnal Intraocular Pressure Monitoring With a Soft Contact Lens Sensor for Glaucoma Management

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soft contact lens sensor enables continuous, noninvasive monitoring of nocturnal intraocular pressure (IOP) under closed‐eye sleep conditions. By integrating a highly compliant inductive–capacitive circuit onto a commercial lens, the device achieves record sensitivity and stable performance.

Surface‐Functionalized LLZO‐Incorporated Multilayer Composite Solid Electrolytes for Dendrite Suppression and Efficient Ionic Conduction in Lithium–Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A soft–hard tri‐layer composite electrolyte that couples fast Li+ transport with reinforced interfacial stability to enable high‐conductivity, mechanically robust, dendrite‐free lithium‐metal batteries. ABSTRACT The development of solid polymer electrolytes is central to safe, high‐energy lithium‐metal batteries (LMBs); however, persistent challenges ...

Investigation of Performance Properties of Milled Carbon Fiber Reinforced Hot Mix Asphalt

open access: yesMedžiagotyra
In this study, the mechanical behavior and resistance to moisture damage of hot mix asphalt (HMA) concrete with the addition of Milled Carbon Fiber (MCF) were experimentally investigated. For this purpose, the gradation curve within the boundaries of the

Moisture Susceptibility of Asphalt Mixtures Modified by Recycled Polypropylene

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
Moisture damage is the most commonly occurring problem, causing layers of asphalt pavements to break apart, reducing the serviceability of roads. The utilization of recycled polymer in asphalt mixtures has become popular because it may offer environmental benefits.

Decoupling Activation and Preservation: Architectural Design Principles of Organic Frameworks for Selective Photocatalytic Methane Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Selective methane (CH4) photooxidation emerges from architectural decoupling of activation and preservation. Programmable organic semiconductor frameworks spatially organize oxidative flux and intermediate residence, separating reaction zones from product domains to synchronize activation strength with stabilization and establish a selective oxidation ...

Towards an Alternate Evaluation of Moisture-Induced Damage of Bituminous Materials

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
Moisture-induced damage is widely known to cause multiple distresses that affect the durability of constructed pavements and eventually lead to the costly maintenance of pavement structures.
