Cofinement, entropy, and single-particle dynamics of equilibrium hard-sphere mixtures [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Chem. Phys. 127, 154513 (2007), 2007
We use discontinuous molecular dynamics and grand-canonical transition-matrix Monte Carlo simulations to explore how confinement between parallel hard walls modifies the relationships between packing fraction, self-diffusivity, partial molar excess entropy, and total excess entropy for binary hard-sphere mixtures.

A macroscopic model that connects the molar excess entropy of a deeply supercooled liquid near its glass transition temperature to its viscosity [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Chem. Phys. 137, 204506 (2012), 2012
For a deeply supercooled liquid near its glass transition temperature, we suggest a possible way to connect the temperature dependence of its molar excess entropy to that of its viscosity by constructing a macroscopic model, where the deeply supercooled liquid is assumed to be a mixture of solid-like and liquid-like micro regions.

Molar volume of solid isotopic helium mixtures [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Phys.: Condens. Matter 19, 156208 (2007), 2008
Solid isotopic helium mixtures have been studied by path-integral Monte Carlo simulations in the isothermal-isobaric ensemble. This method allowed us to study the molar volume as a function of temperature, pressure, and isotopic composition. At 25 K and 0.2 GPa, the relative difference between molar volumes of isotopically-pure crystals of 3He and 4He ...

Hypomineralized Second Primary Molars as Predictor of Molar Incisor Hypomineralization

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2016
AbstractMolar incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is a developmental defect of dental enamel that shares features with hypomineralized second primary molars (HSPM). Prior to permanent tooth eruption, second primary molars could have predictive value for permanent molar and incisor hypomineralization. To assess this possible relationship, a cross-sectional

Revisiting the composition dependence of the properties of water-dimethyl sulfoxide liquid mixtures. Molecular dynamics computer simulations [PDF]

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2022, vol. 25, No. 3, 33202, 2022
We have revisited the composition dependence of principal properties of liquid water-DMSO mixtures by using the isobaric-isothermal molecular dynamics computer simulations. A set of non-polarizable semi-flexible models for the DMSO molecule combined with the TIP4P-2005 and TIP4P/$\varepsilon$ water models is considered.

Can bulk-fill resin restorations be an alternative to resin-modified glass ionomer cement restorations in primary molars of toddlers? A randomized clinical trial protocol

open access: yesJournal of Oral Research, 2021
Background: The aim of this study was to elaborate a randomized clinical trial protocol to evaluate the effectiveness of class I restorations in resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) and bulk-fill resin in primary molars with untreated early ...

Integrated Molar Chiral Sensing Based on High-Q Metasurface.

open access: yesNano letters (Print), 2020
Circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy is conventionally utilized for the enantiomer-specific analysis of chiral samples, which is of great significance in academia and industry.
