Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) promote cancer growth, invasion (metastasis), and drug resistance. Here, we identified functional and diverse circulating CAFs (cCAFs) in patients with metastatic prostate cancer (mPCa). cCAFs were found in higher numbers and were functional and diverse in mPCa patients versus healthy individuals, suggesting their ...

Mold infections of the central nervous system.
Molds are ubiquitous in soil, water, and decaying vegetation and can cause devastating infections that are difficult to treat. This review summarizes the epidemiologic profiles, clinical characteristics, and treatment of mold infections of the central ...

Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

Melting and Heat Transfer Behavior of Fluorine-Free Mold Fluxes for Casting Medium Carbon Steels
As fluxing agent, fluorine is important to the properties of mold flux; however, it tends to cause serious environment and health problems. In this paper, the melting and heat transfer behaviors have been studied by using Single Hot Thermocouple ...

Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

Dimensional Analysis Theory and Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Polypropylene Melt Flow during Injection Molding Process [PDF]
Flow marks are common surface defects that occur in injection-molded products. Their formation may be related to the flow process of the melt in the mold. Through dimensional analysis, we have discovered that the geometric shape of the flow field is controlled by specific dimensionless quantities.
