A Graphene-Edge Ferroelectric Molecular Switch [PDF]
We show that polar molecules (water, ammonia, and nitrogen dioxide) adsorbed solely at the exposed edges of an encapsulated graphene sheet exhibit ferroelectricity, collectively orienting and switching reproducibly between two available states in response to an external electric field.

On the molecular origins of the ferroelectric splay nematic phase [PDF]
AbstractNematic liquid crystals have been known for more than a century, but it was not until the 60s–70s that, with the development of room temperature nematics, they became widely used in applications. Polar nematic phases have been long-time predicted, but have only been experimentally realized recently.

High-Temperature Metal-Free Molecular Ferroelectrics with Large Spontaneous Polarization
In the past two decades, numerous molecular ferroelectrics have been reported. However, metal-free molecular ferroelectrics with high working temperatures and large spontaneous polarizations are still uncommon. Herein, we present two metal-free molecular

Ferroelectricity at molecular level
The synthesis of ultrathin ferroelectric nanostructures by the Langmuir–Blodgett method and their properties are reviewed. It is shown that ferroelectricity exists in one monolayer of the ferroelectric P(VDF-TrFE) copolymer, i.e., at the molecular level. The specific characteristics of switching of ultrathin ferroelectric films are established.
