The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Engineering Mononuclear Ln(III) Complexes with a Pseudo-Macrocyclic Hexadentate N4O2 Schiff Base Ligand Exhibiting Slow Magnetic Relaxation

open access: yesMagnetochemistry
We report here the synthesis of a series of nine coordinated mononuclear LnIII complexes [LnL1Cl2(DMF)]Cl·2.5DMF and [LnL1(L2)2]Cl·4CH3OH (LnIII = GdIII, DyIII, ErIII and YbIII, HL2 = 9-anthracenecarboxylic acid), where L1 is a hexadentate N4O2 Schiff ...

Smart Ligands for Efficient 3d-, 4d- and 5d-Metal Single-Molecule Magnets and Single-Ion Magnets

open access: yesInorganics, 2020
There has been a renaissance in the interdisciplinary field of Molecular Magnetism since ~2000, due to the discovery of the impressive properties and potential applications of d- and f-metal Single-Molecule Magnets (SMMs) and Single-Ion Magnets (SIMs) or

Frustrated 3-Dimensional Quantum Spin Liquid in CuHpCl

open access: yes, 2001
Inelastic neutron scattering measurements are reported for the quantum antiferromagnetic material Cu_2(C_5H_12N_2)_2Cl_4 (CuHpCl). The magnetic excitation spectrum forms a band extending from 0.9 meV to 1.4 meV.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Synthesis and Magnetic Properties of the Novel Dithiadiazolyl Radical, p-NCC6F4C6F4CNSSN

open access: yesMolecules, 2004
The dithiadiazolyl radical p-NCC6F4C6F4CNSSN• (4) retains its monomericnature in the solid state with molecules linked together into chains via supramolecularCN···S interactions.

Magnetic ordering of itinerant systems; the role of kinetic exchange interaction

open access: yes, 2004
The possibility of ferromagnetic ordering is revisited in the band model. The coherent potential approximation decoupling has been used for the strong on-site Coulomb interaction.

Spin–orbit coupled molecular quantum magnetism realized in inorganic solid

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Molecular quantum magnetism involving an isolated spin state is of particular interest due to the characteristic quantum phenomena underlying spin qubits or molecular spintronics for quantum information devices, as demonstrated in magnetic metal–organic ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

The Effects of Conjugation Path Variation on Electron Delocalization in Phenoxyl-Based Systems.

open access: yesMolecules, 2004
A number of persistent 2,6-di-tert-butylphenoxyl based radicals were synthesized as models for unpaired spin delocalization as a function of conjugation pathway, and were investigated by ESR and UV-vis spectroscopy.
