Molecular magnetism in nanodomains of isoreticular MIL-88(Fe)-MOFs.

Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics - PCCP, 2021
Molecular magnetism in nanodomains of three isoreticular MIL-88(Fe) analogues is studied and reported. Microstructures of isoreticular extended frameworks of MIL-88B, MIL-88C, and the interpenetrated analogue of MIL-88D, i.e., MIL-126, with the trigonal ...

Dy2@C79N: a new member of dimetalloazafullerenes with strong single molecular magnetism.

Nanoscale, 2020
Enhancing the exchange interaction between magnetic ions is a long-term target in molecular magnetism. Endohedral metallofullerenes (EMFs) provide a possibility for achieving such a goal by imprisoning multiple magnetic centers inside the confined inner ...

Inducing and Controlling Molecular Magnetism through Supramolecular Manipulation.

ACS Nano, 2020
Diamagnetic H2 phthalocyanine molecules are probed on superconducting Pb(100) using a low-temperature scanning tunneling micoscope (STM). In supramolecular arrays made with the STM, the molecules acquire a spin as detected via the emergence of Yu-Shiba ...

Optically Controlled Molecular Metallofullerene Magnetism via an Azobenzene-Functionalized Metal-Organic Framework.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2018
Molecular magnets with optically controlled property have significant applications in data storage and quantum information processing. Herein, we report the optically controlled molecular magnetism of endohedral metallofullerenes, Sc3C2@C80 and DySc2N ...

Magnetic polyoxometalates: from molecular magnetism to molecular spintronics and quantum computing

Chemical Society Reviews, 2012
In this review we discuss the relevance of polyoxometalate (POM) chemistry to provide model objects in molecular magnetism. We present several potential applications in nanomagnetism, in particular, in molecular spintronics and quantum computing.

Molecular based magnetic materials

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1992
Abstract A short resume of the principal approaches which are currently followed in order to synthesize molecular based magnetic materials is provided, stressing the interest in this class of compounds. Particular attention is devoted to systems in which stable organic radicals are coupled to metal ions, showing how many different kinds of low ...

Magnetism in Ln molecular systems with 4f/valence-shell interplay (FV-magnetism).

Chemical Communications, 2019
The hunt for high-performance single-molecule magnets (SMM) revealed that atomic and molecular lanthanide systems combining 4f-shell and valence magnetism (FV-magnetism) may show magnetic bistability up to unexpectedly high temperatures.

Model Molecular Magnets

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2002
The local spin method suggested previously for defining the spin state of an atom in a molecule is applied to model manganese complexes with three and four manganese centers. This method extracts from the wave function a spin for the manganese centers that has been compared to the one suggested by chemical intuition.
