Systematic identification of the chemical components of leaves and roots of Didymocarpus heucherifolius Hand.-Mazz. based on UHPLC Q-Exactive Orbitrap MS technology coupled with molecular networking strategy

open access: yesScientific Reports
Didymocarpus heucherifolius Hand.-Mazz. is plant of the genus Didymocarpus wall. (Gesneriaceae). Species in this genus have long been used in folk medicine to treat various illnesses, including wounds, kidney stones, inflammations, asthma, influenza, etc.

Bioactive Metabolites from the Dusty Seeds of Gastrodia elata Bl., Based on Metabolomics and UPLC-Q-TOF-MS Combined with Molecular Network Strategy

open access: yesPlants
Orchids produce tiny, light seeds (dust-like seeds without endosperm) that rely on specific symbiotic fungi for successful germination. Plant roots often release small signaling molecules or bioactive compounds to attract arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM ...

Weakly reversible deficiency zero realizations of reaction networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We prove that if a given reaction network $\mathcal{N}$ has a weakly reversible deficiency zero realization for all choice of rate constants, then there exists a $\textit{unique}$ weakly reversible deficiency zero network $\mathcal{N}'$ such that $\mathcal{N}$ is realizable by $\mathcal{N}'$.

Top-Down Causation by Information Control: From a Philosophical Problem to a Scientific Research Program

open access: yes, 2008
It has been claimed that different types of causes must be considered in biological systems, including top-down as well as same-level and bottom-up causation, thus enabling the top levels to be causally efficacious in their own right.
