Removing Oxide Layers and Retaining Oxide‐Free Steel Surfaces by Polishing in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this study, the efficacy of wet mechanical polishing under an oxygen‐free atmosphere for deoxidation and the retention of an oxide‐free steel surface are elucidated using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The methodology proved successful; however, the results were highly dependent on the preparation of the solvents used to clean the samples after ...

M-type Star Spectral Analysis: ScO Line List Including the B2Σ+–X2Σ+ Band System
An analysis of the B ^2 Σ ^+ − X ^2 Σ ^+ band system of ^45 Sc ^16 O is presented. ScO was excited in a hollow cathode discharge, and its Doppler-limited resolution spectrum was measured with a Fourier transform spectrometer. The spectroscopic constants

Search for varying constants of nature from astronomical observation of molecules
The status of searches for possible variation in the constants of nature from astronomical observation of molecules is reviewed, focusing on the dimensionless constant representing the proton-electron mass ratio $\mu=m_p/m_e$.

The ground-state spectroscopic constants of Be_2 revisited [PDF]
Extensive ab initio calibration calculations combined with extrapolations towards the infinite-basis limit lead to a ground-state dissociation energy of Be_2, D_e=944 \pm 25 1/cm, substantially higher than the accepted experimental value, and confirming ...

This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Formation pathways and detectability of interstellar C2HNO-bearing molecules
Aims. We explored N-bearing molecules of the general formula C2HNO. We provide their spectroscopic constants, structural properties relevant for detection, and reaction pathways to constrain their formation in the interstellar medium. Methods.

Spectroscopy of free radicals and radical containing entrance-channel complexes in superfluid helium nano-droplets [PDF]
The spectroscopy of free radicals and radical containing entrance-channel complexes embedded in superfluid helium nano-droplets is reviewed. The collection of dopants inside individual droplets in the beam represents a micro-canonical ensemble, and as ...
