Exploiting volumetric wave correlation for enhanced depth imaging in scattering medium
The authors achieve ultrahigh resolution and depth volumetric imaging in complex media by recording a volumetric reflection matrix covering individual wavelengths and angles and developing reconstruction algorithms based on volumetric wave correlation.

Controlled rotary motion of light-driven molecular motors assembled on a gold film [PDF]
Using circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, we show that light-driven rotary molecular motors based on overcrowded alkenes can function in a self-assembled monolayer on semi-transparent gold films.

Simulation of optical response functions in molecular junctions
We discuss theoretical approaches to nonlinear optical spectroscopy of molecular junctions. Optical response functions are derived in the form convenient for implementation of Green function techniques, and their expressions in terms of pseudoparticle ...

Atomic and Molecular Data for Optical Stellar Spectroscopy [PDF]
High-precision spectroscopy of large stellar samples plays a crucial role for several topical issues in astrophysics. Examples include studying the chemical structure and evolution of the Milky Way galaxy, tracing the origin of chemical elements, and ...

Ion-specific binding of cations to the carboxylate and of anions to the amide of alanylalanine
Studies of ion-specific effects on oligopeptides are largely dependent on model peptides and experimental sensitivities. Here, the authors study the ion-specific effects on L-alanyl-L-alanine by combining dielectric relaxation, 1H-NMR and 2D infrared ...

Transient coherent Raman scattering in the time and frequency domain [PDF]
A new type of Raman spectroscopy is presented: After transient excitation of molecular modes coherently scattered Raman spectra are investigated in a depayed probing experiment.

Unified picture of vibrational relaxation of OH stretch at the air/water interface
The elucidation of the energy dissipation process is crucial for understanding various phenomena occurring in nature. Yet, the vibrational relaxation and its timescale at the water interface, where the hydrogen-bonding network is truncated, are not well ...

Hyperglycemia and cancer in human lung carcinoma by means of Raman spectroscopy and imaging
Raman spectroscopy and Raman imaging were used to identify the biochemical and structural features of human cancer lung cells (CCL-185) and the cancer cells supplemented with glucose and deuterated glucose at normal and hyperglycemia conditions. We found
