Molecule-molecule forward scattering

Science, 2020
Chemical Physics The classical picture of nonreactive inelastic scattering implies that a considerable transfer of translational to rotational energy should be accompanied by backward scattering. Using cross–molecular beam scattering combined with velocity map imaging, Sun et al.

Infrared light on molecule-molecule and molecule-surface collisions

Physical Review A, 2015
By analyzing measured infrared absorption of pure $\mathrm{C}{\mathrm{H}}_{4}$ gas under both ``free'' (large sample cell) and ``confined'' (inside the pores of a silica xerogel sample) conditions we give a demonstration that molecule-molecule and molecule-surface collisions lead to very different propensity rules for rotational-state changes.

Bisfunctionalized Janus Molecules

Organic Letters, 2004
[reaction: see text] Bisfunctionalized dendritic multiester molecules were synthesized by combined protection-deprotection and divergent-convergent-divergent sequences in high yields leading to dendritic molecules that combine two functionally different surfaces, polar aliphatic arborol and nonpolar gallate ether moieties, resulting in a two-faced ...

Cold molecules.

Chemphyschem : a European journal of chemical physics and physical chemistry, 2002
During the last years there has been a rapidly growing interest in the field of cold molecules. This has obviously been inspired by the spectacular successes in the closely related field of cold atoms, which have recently been recognized by the award of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physics to Cornell, Ketterle, and Wieman.

Adhesion Molecules

2002
The exact mechanisms by which serous ovarian cancer cells invade through their underlying basement membrane or are released from the surface of the ovary have yet to be elucidated. This process undoubtedly has a complex molecular basis that most likely involves multiple cell surface receptors, basement membrane components, intercellular adhesion ...

Aggregate Science: from Molecules, beyond Molecules

Advanced Materials
AbstractOver the past centuries, molecular science has played a dominant role in the advancement of physical science by exploring the structure–property relationships at a single molecular level. However, when molecules form aggregates, a dilemma arises as the structures and properties often differ significantly from those of molecular constituents. To
