Abstract: The Shiny Cowbird (Molothrus bonariensis) is a brood parasite native to South America that has spread across the Caribbean archipelago and North America. The species likely reached Puerto Rico before 1955, the Dominican Republic in 1972, Cuba in 1982, the Bahamas in 1984, and the Florida Keys in 1985.
