Preparation of RE-containing magnesium alloys via molten-salt-mediated magnesiothermic reduction

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys, 2023
RE-containing magnesium alloys were prepared via molten-salt-mediated magnesiothermic reduction by using RE2O3 (RE=Y, Nd and Gd) and Mg metal as raw materials.

Z‐Scheme Water Splitting Systems Based on Solid‐State Electron Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the latest advances in Z‐scheme overall water splitting (OWS) systems for solar hydrogen production. These systems consist of suspended or immobilized hydrogen evolution photocatalysts (HEPs) and oxygen evolution photocatalysts (OEPs).

Corrosion Behavior of 20G and TP347H in Molten LiCl-NaCl-KCl Salt

open access: yesNanomaterials
The corrosion behavior of 20G and TP347H materials was investigated in molten LiCl-NaCl-KCl salt. The corrosion rates of these materials in molten chloride salt are high and are strongly affected by the alloying surface oxide formation.

Organic cathode for a secondary battery [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
A liquid catholyte for a battery based on liquid metal such as sodium anode and a solid, ceramic separator such as beta alumina (BASE) comprises a mixture of a Group I-III metal salt such as sodium tetrachloroaluminate and a minor amount of an organic ...

Flexibility and Dynamicity Enhances and Controls Supramolecular Self‐Assembly of Zinc(II) Metallogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zinc(II) coordination complexes with tunable aryloxy‐imine ligands exhibit controllable supramolecular self‐assembly into hierarchical fibrous structures. Coordination‐driven stacking, not π–π interactions, enables gelation, dynamic assembly/disassembly, and enhanced nanomechanical properties.

Calculation for Dose Distribution and for Equipment Shielding of Molten Salt Reactor Cooling Circuit

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2022
LiF-BeF2-ZrF4-UF4 and LiF-BeF2 have been employed as fuel salt and coolant in liquid fueled molten salt reactor, respectively. A heat exchanger containing both fuel salt and cooling salt is placed inside the reactor vessel to dissipate the heat produced

Molten salts and nuclear energy production

open access: yes, 2005
Molten salts (fluorides or chlorides) have been taken in consideration very soon in nuclear energy production researches. This was initially due to their advantageous physical properties: good heat transfer capacity, radiation insensitivity, high boiling

Single‐Step Electrochemical Battery Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the use of single‐step recovery, an electrochemical process combining electrodeposition and electro‐dissolution, to recover lithiated transition metal oxides (LTMOs). The batteries produced through this recycling method perform similarly to batteries made from pristine materials.
