Intrinsic Capacitance of Molybdenum Disulfide

ACS Nano, 2020
The metallic, 1T polymorph of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is promising for next-generation supercapacitors due to its high theoretical surface area and density which lead to high volumetric capacitance. Despite this, there are few fundamental works examining the double-layer charging mechanisms at the MoS2/electrolyte interface. This study examines the

Magnetic Molybdenum Disulfide Nanosheet Films

Nano Letters, 2007
Bulk molybdenum disulfide is known to be a nonmagnetic material. We have synthesized edge-oriented MoS2 nanosheet-like films that exhibit weak magnetism ( approximately 1-2 emu/g) and 2.5% magnetoresistance effects with a Curie temperature of 685 K.

Cubic Nonlinearity of Molybdenum Disulfide Nanoflakes

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2020
The cubic optical nonlinearity of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanoflakes was characterized by Z-scan and I-scan with resonant excitation. The excitation source was a ~6 ns laser at 532 nm with a 10 Hz repetition rate. The open and closed Z-scan analyzed the nonlinear absorption and nonlinear refraction properties of MoS2 nanoflakes.

Molybdenum disulfide and water interaction parameters

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2017
Understanding the interaction between water and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is of crucial importance to investigate the physics of various applications involving MoS2 and water interfaces. An accurate force field is required to describe water and MoS2 interactions.

Fracture mechanics of monolayer molybdenum disulfide

Nanotechnology, 2015
Molecular dynamics (MD) modeling is used to study the fracture toughness and crack propagation path of monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS(2)) sheets under mixed modes I and II loading. Sheets with both initial armchair and zigzag cracks are studied.

Molybdenum Disulfide — Amine Nanostructures

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2003
MoS2 with intercalated primary amines was synthesized and structurally characterized. The interlaminar distance of the MoS2 was found to increase from 0.6 nm to 5.1 nm for hexadecylamine. Hydrothermal treatment of these nanocomposites yields nanoparticles.

Phenanthroline intercalation into molybdenum disulfide

Solid State Ionics, 1996
Abstract The interaction of MoS 2 single-layer dispersion with 1,10-phenanthroline has been studied over the pH range 0–11. Only protonated phenanthroline initiates flocculation of dispersion and formation of intercalation compounds. Two intercalated phases containing respectively 0.31–0.35 and 0.1 mol of phenanthroline per mol MoS 2 have been ...
