Moment-rotation model of composite connection with curved endplate and blind bolts
Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2021Abstract The endplate blind bolted connection is a common type in concrete-filled circle steel tube (CFCST) structures. The moment-rotation relationship describes the mechanical performance of connection obviously. For the purpose of predicting the moment-rotation relationship of the endplate blind bolted connection between CFCST column and steel ...

Moment‐Rotation Curves for Bolted Connections
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1986A physically based mathematical model that can predict the moment-rotation relationships of bolted extended end-plate eave connections, using the connection dimensions as inputs is presented. The model recognizes the bounds within which the relationship must lie, viz., the initial (elastic) stiffness, the plastic moment capacity and the strain ...

The Structural Design of Tall and Special Buildings, 2021
SummaryDue to recent advances in computational power, high efficiency and high precision semi‐rigid calculation methods of steel connections are necessary. In this paper, four connection experiments were designed to study the mechanical behavior of the top and seat angle connections.

Derived Moment Rotation Curves for Double Framing Angles
Civil-Comp Proceedings, 1988Abstract Tension and compression force-deformation data obtained from laboratory tests of angle segments are used to generate moment-rotation curves for bolted double framing angle connections. These force-deformation and moment-rotation curves are analytically described by a four parameter formula which provides the basis for the analytical ...

Moment rotation curves for semi rigid connections
2016 International Conference on Electrical, Electronics, and Optimization Techniques (ICEEOT), 2016In the design of steel portal frames, we assume that the connections behave as it is pinned or rigid. Truly the connection would not behave as ideally pinned or ideally rigid. The connection falls between pinned and rigid, and it is known as semi-rigid. Change in the connection behavior changes the behavior of structure.

Moment-Rotation Curves for Locally Buckling Beams
Journal of the Structural Division, 1972Tests on composite steel-concrete beams have shown these sections to be highly susceptible to local buckling under negative bending. To further the application of plastic design to continuous composite beams an approxiamte method of predicting the moment-rotation curve of a locally buckling I-shape is developed.
