Moment–rotation–temperature curves for semi-rigid joints

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2005
Abstract Although connections are known to have a very significant effect on the behaviour of steel and composite framed buildings in the event of fire, the cost of high temperature tests on the broad range of connections used in practice means that their influence is not well detailed in current design codes.

FORCES, MOMENTS, ROTATIONS, AND DISPLACEMENTS OF POLYNOMIAL-SHAPED CURVED BEAMS

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2010
This paper deals with curved beams with polynomial free geometry. The problem is approached analytically and the differential equations that govern the mechanical behavior of curved beams are presented. A system of twelve linear ordinary differential equations is solved using either an analytical or a customized numerical method with boundary ...

Analytical moment–rotation curves for rigid foundations based on a Winkler model

Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, 2003
Analytical equations for the moment– rotation response of a rigid foundation on a Winkler soil model are presented. An equation is derived for the uplift-yield condition and is combined with equations for uplift- and yield-only conditions to enable the definition of the entire static moment– rotation response.

Continuous Static and Dynamic Moment-Rotation Curves of the Human Cervical Intervertebral Joint

Advances in Bioengineering, 1998
Abstract The quasistatic and dynamic bending responses of the human mid-lower cervical spine were determined using cadaver intervertebral joints fixed at the base to a six-axis load cell. Flexion bending was induced to the superior end of the specimen using an electrohydraulic piston.

Toward design office moment-rotation curves for end-plate beam-to-column connections

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 1995
Abstract A semi-analytic method to model moment-rotation curves for unstiffened extended end plate connections is presented. Two physically based parameters; connection initial stiffness and connection moment capacity, and one experimentally based parameter are used in a three-parameter power model.

The Research for Moment-Rotation Curve of T-Beam Joints in Semi-Rigid Connections

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Reference to the proposed research results and abroad specification, T-stub connection is widely used in engineer steel connection. The calculation of moment-rotation curve for this connection be proposed. The parameters which can connect directly reflect the moment of nodes nodes-the impact corner, By comparing the calculated results with finite ...

Moment-rotation curves of ultra-large capacity end-plate joints based on component method

Journal of Constructional Steel Research, 2017
Abstract The behavior of the beam-to-column joints in steel frames can be represented by the moment-rotation curves in the structural analysis. The moment resistance and the rotational stiffness are two basic parameters in the moment-rotation relationships.

Empirical Model of the Moment-Rotation Curve of Beam-to-Beam Bolted Flush Endplate Connections

Journal of Structural Engineering, 2013
AbstractBased on the current knowledge of steel moment connections, an empirical predictive three-parameter exponential model to depict the moment-rotation (M–θ) relationship of bolted flush endplate beam-to-beam (BFEB) connections is presented in this paper. The exponential model has three control parameters.

Evaluation of the moment–rotation curve of steel beam-to-column joints with flange-plate

Asian Journal of Civil Engineering, 2019
Beam-to-column connections and their behavior in structures due to its importance in seismic loads are one of the most important parts of steel frames analysis. Thus, the correct understanding of power transmission by beam-to-column connections and more accurate understanding of their behavior are essential for modeling and analysis of steel structures.
