Summary: We show a method of obtaining general and orthogonal moments, specifically Legendre and Zernike moments, from the Radon Transform data of a two-dimensional function. The regular or geometric moments are first evaluated directly from the projection data and the orthogonal moments are derived from these regular moments.

A method of spectral moment estimation

The paper presents a new method that enables the authors to construct direct routines to estimate spectral moments of any orders. Accuracy analysis confirms high efficiency of the estimates. The feasibility of the method is tested for signal fading data acquired during observations of ionosphere multipath propagation.
