Probing proton transition momentum in neutron-rich matter
Around the nuclear Fermi momentum, there is a transition of nucleon momentum distribution n(k) in nuclear matter, i.e., from a constant to the $1/k^{4}$ nucleon momentum distribution.

Microengineered Gradient Hydrogels for Mechanobiology
Gradient hydrogels are used to mimic the mechanical heterogeneity in native tissues, offering powerful in vitro platforms to study cell‐material interactions in diverse pathophysiological contexts. Here, we present a comprehensive review of the design and experimental considerations for stiffness gradient hydrogels, discussing exemplary achievements ...

Electromagnetic Energy, Momentum, and Angular Momentum in an Inhomogeneous Linear Dielectric
In a previous work, Optics Communications 284 (2011) 2460--2465, we considered a dielectric medium with an anti-reflection coating and a spatially uniform index of refraction illuminated at normal incidence by a quasimonochromatic field.

Angular momentum of a strongly focussed Gaussian beam [PDF]
A circularly polarized rotationally symmetric paraxial laser beams carries hbar angular momentum per photon as spin. Focussing the beam with a rotationally symmetric lens cannot change this angular momentum flux, yet the focussed beam must have spin less

Transverse Momentum Dependent Factorization for Quarkonium Production at Low Transverse Momentum
Quarkonium production in hadron collisions at low transverse momentum $q_\perp \ll M$ with $M$ as the quarkonium mass can be used for probing transverse momentum dependent (TMD) gluon distributions.

Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Spectral Properties of Holstein and Breathing Polarons
We calculate the spectral properties of the one-dimensional Holstein and breathing polarons using the self-consistent Born approximation. The Holstein model electron-phonon coupling is momentum independent while the breathing coupling increases ...

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and
