The toposiomerase IIIalpha-RMI1-RMI2 complex orients human Bloom’s syndrome helicase for efficient disruption of D-loops

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Human Bloom’s syndrome (BLM) helicase has a role in DNA repair, and BLM deficiency in humans is associated with chromosomal abnormalities. Here the authors employ solution biophysical assays to show BLM maintains a balance for disruption and ...

Momentum Universe Shrinkage Effect in Price Momentum [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2012
We test the price momentum effect in the Korean stock markets under the momentum universe shrinkage to subuniverses of the KOSPI 200. Performance of the momentum strategy is not homogeneous with respect to change of the momentum universe. It is found that some submarkets generate the higher momentum returns than other universes do but large-size ...

Building on the momentum: Sustaining telehealth beyond COVID-19

open access: yesJournal of Telemedicine and Telecare, 2020
The 2019 coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has resulted in tremendous growth in telehealth services in Australia and around the world. The rapid uptake of telehealth has mainly been due to necessity – following social distancing requirements and the need ...

Momentum-Dependent Spin Splitting by Collinear Antiferromagnetic Ordering [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Physical Society of Japan, 2019
We clarify the macroscopic symmetry and microscopic model-parameter conditions for emergence of spin-split electronic band structure in collinear antiferromagnets without atomic spin-orbit coupling.

Accelerating Federated Learning via Momentum Gradient Descent [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2019
Federated learning (FL) provides a communication-efficient approach to solve machine learning problems concerning distributed data, without sending raw data to a central server. However, existing works on FL only utilize first-order gradient descent (GD)

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

Dependence of the cut-off parameters for the cluster reconstruction on incident momenta

open access: yesProceedings of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, 2018
In this work, firstly, we have determined the multiplicities of protons that are involved from projectiles to interactions, and secondly, the mean incident momentum using experimental data on the collisions of proton, helium, oxygen, silicon, and sulfur ...

ANGULAR MOMENTUM

open access: yesAdvanced University Physics, 2018
The effect of angular momentum on an excited paired nucleus has been studied. The B.C.S. Hamiltonian, modified to include the z projection of the angular momentum has been diagonalized and expressed in terms of the quasi-particle occupation numbers.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
