Applied Scientific Research, 1959From a simple consideration, the eddy diffusivities for momentum and heat are shown to be equal in terms of statistical properties of turbulence. A universal semi-empirical expression for the eddy diffusivities in a turbulent shear flow is obtained in terms of the distance from the solid boundary and flow properties.

Semiclassical calculation of the diffusion constant for the Λ system momentum
Physical Review A, 1995We present a one-dimensional, semiclassical calculation of the momentum diffusion constant for a stationary \ensuremath{\Lambda} atom. We show that if the difference detuning between the driving fields is zero, the diffusion vanishes, and we interpret this behavior in terms of the atom-field eigenstates.
