Microfluidic Hydroporation Platform for Effective Allogeneic CAR‐T Cell Production and Subsequent Functional Cytotoxicity Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The hydroporator platform employs controlled hydrodynamic deformation for efficient mRNA and CRISPR/Cas9 delivery into primary human T cells, enabling allogeneic CAR‐T cell manufacturing. It preserves cell functionality and drives potent gene editing, CAR expression, and tumor cytotoxicity, while feature‐based analysis links these functional outcomes ...

Design Implications for Surveys to Monitor Monarch Butterfly Population Trends

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2019
The Iowa Multiple Species Inventory and Monitoring (MSIM) Program includes a protocol for monitoring butterfly density on conservation lands using transects. Most data are collected from sites chosen randomly; additional sites are chosen non-randomly for

Testicular mRNA‐LNP Delivery: A Novel Therapy for Genetic Spermatogenic Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the current study, we developed a novel therapy for genetic spermatogenic disorders. It was revealed that in vivo delivery of mRNA LNP3 could restore spermatogenesis in Msh5D486Y/D486Y and Maps KO mouse models with meiotic arrest. Notably, the offspring without genomic integration was born using ICSI derived from the rescue of Msh5D486Y/D486Y mouse ...

Biodegradable Carbonate Nanogels Loaded with Anti MFAP‐5 siRNA for Anti‐stromal Therapy of Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polycarbonate nanogels enable lipid‐free delivery of anti‐MFAP‐5 siRNA into cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAF) in hepatocellular carcinoma. In a cirrhotic murine model, this approach silences MFAP‐5, reduces fibroblast activation, and suppresses tumor growth by inhibiting NOTCH/Hes1‐driven angiogenesis. CAF‐targeted MFAP‐5 RNAi and conserved signaling

A multiresolution framework for local similarity based image denoising [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, we present a generic framework for denoising of images corrupted with additive white Gaussian noise based on the idea of regional similarity.

An Open‐Source Pipeline for Calcium Imaging and All‐Optical Physiology in Human Stem Cell‐Derived Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces an open‐source all‐optical platform for functional phenotyping of human stem cell‐derived neurons. The system integrates optogenetics, calcium imaging, automated acquisition, and analysis to resolve single‐cell and network activity, enabling longitudinal measurements, disease modeling, and pharmacological screening in preclinical ...

Macrophage TRIM21 Inhibition Ameliorates Murine Acute Pancreatitis via PHB2‐Mediated Mitochondrial Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Macrophage‐derived TRIM21 drives the progression of AP via ubiquitin‐proteasome‐mediated degradation of PHB2, leading to impaired PHB2‐mediated mitophagy. Therefore, accumulation of cytosolic mtDNA hyperactivates the cGAS‐STING signaling axis, thereby amplifying inflammatory cascades.

Assessing Role of Major Drivers in Recent Decline of Monarch Butterfly Population in North America

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2018
Monarch (Danaus plexippus L.) is a long distance migratory species of butterfly in North America that has experienced population declines in recent years. Several interacting factors have been postulated to contribute to this decline.

Monarchical Trinitarianism:

open access: yesTheoLogica: An International Journal for Philosophy of Religion and Philosophical Theology, 2021
This article aims to provide a metaphysical elucidation of a specific model of the doctrine of the Trinity: Monarchical Trinitarianism, within the formal, neo–Aristotelian ontological and metaphysical framework of Jonathan Lowe (i.e. his four–category ontology and serious essentialism).
