Microstructural and electrical features of lithium Ce-monazite
Solid State Ionics, 2008Abstract Two cerium-monazites containing excess phosphorous were synthesized by a precipitation method. The Ce-phosphate selected samples were doped with 1.3 wt.% and 4.7 wt.% lithium and sintered in dry air. The phase evolution as a function of temperatures was investigated.

A simple method for the synthesis of spherical LaPO(4) (monazite) particles with narrow size distribution and tailored size in the 150-500 nm range is reported. The procedure is based on a homogeneous precipitation process at low temperature (120 degrees C) from solutions containing La(3+), citrate and phosphate ions under a very restrictive set of ...

The El Muerto granitic pegmatite, of Grenville (Neoproterozoic) age, part of the Oaxacan Complex in southern Mexico, contains an exceptional development of HFSE-enriched accessory phases. We report here compositional data and textures involving the exotic minerals of this suite, in particular allanite-(Ce), perrierite-(Ce), monazite-(Ce), thorite ...

The Sin Quyen deposit in northwestern Vietnam is composed of Fe-Cu-LREE-Au ore bodies hosted in Proterozoic metapelite. There are massive and banded replacement ores with variable amounts of monazite-(Ce) and chevkinite-(Ce) crystals, which have undergone fluid-induced alteration.

Orthophosphates of Tetravalent Ce, Th, U, Np, and Pu with the Monazite Structure
Radiochemistry, 2004The problem of development of a ceramic phosphate matrix for solidification of the lanthanideactinide fraction of radioactive wastes is tackled from the crystal-chemical viewpoint. New double orthophosphates of tetravalent f elements (Ce, Th, U, Np, Pu) with alkaline-earth elements and cadmium of the formulas B0.5M2(PO4)3 and B1.5M1.5(PO4)3 (B = Mg, Ca,

Effect of the phosphorous/cerium ratio in the properties of sintered Ce-monazite
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2008Abstract Three Ce-phosphates were prepared by the precipitation method containing different P/Ce ratio. It has been observed that an excess of phosphorous considerably increases the amount of glassy phase surrounding the monazite grains in the ceramic body and produces the decomposition at high temperatures (over 1400 °C).

Extraction of Ce and Th from Monazite Using REE Tolerant Aspergillus niger
Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 2017ABSTRACTIn the present study, bioleaching of monazite, one of oldest and most water-resistant mineral to microbial attack, was tested for its amenability toward extraction of Ce, Th, and U using heterotrophic fungal species, Aspergillus niger. Shake flask experiments were carried out using Bromfield, sucrose, synthetic, and standard media containing 2%(
