Research of the thorium purification at monazite refinement processes [PDF]
This paper is aimed to the research of the thorium purification processes at monazite refinement processes. We have investigated different solution containing thorium with different mix of rare-earth elements.

Synthesis and Certification of Lanthanum Oxide Extracted from Monazite Sand
Synthesis and certification of lanthanum oxide extracted from monazite sand have been carried out. This research aimed to increase the added value of monazite sand and obtain the lanthanum oxide in-house certified reference material (CRM).

Electron Microprobe Chemical Dating of Uraninite as a Reconnaissance Tool for Leucogranite Geochronology [PDF]
We suggest that electron microprobe techniques may be employed to date Tertiary samples of uraninite (UO~2~), which can contain very high concentrations of radiogenic Pb after only a few million of years of U and Th decay. Although uraninite is regarded

Inferences on the Mesozoic evolution of the North Aegean from the isotopic record of the Chalkidiki block [PDF]
International audienceThe Chalkidiki block is a major domain in the North Aegean that, contrary to other domains in the region, largely escaped thermal perturbations during Tertiary extension.

Plasma dissociation of monazite
Abstract Monazite is a phosphate mineral which contains a significant amount of rare earth elements (REE) with thorium (Th) and a low concentration of uranium (U). The radioactive components of monazite, Th and U, make it an unattractive source of REE due to the added cost associated with radioactive waste handling.

The top-to-the-southeast Sarzeau shear zone and its place in the late-orogenic extensional tectonics of southern Armorica [PDF]
International audienceThis study presents new structural and monazite chemical U-Th/Pb geochronological constraints for the magmatic rocks of the Golfe du Morbihan area, in southern Brittany, south of the South Armorican shear zone (SASZ).
