Another Round of Breaking and Making Quantum Money: How to Not Build It from Lattices, and More [PDF]
Public verification of quantum money has been one of the central objects in quantum cryptography ever since Wiesner's pioneering idea of using quantum mechanics to construct banknotes against counterfeiting. So far, we do not know any publicly-verifiable quantum money scheme that is provably secure from standard assumptions.

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Rammya Mathew: It’s not about the money, money, money [PDF]
The issue of doctors’ pay is once again under the spotlight. The profession remains divided over how important pay is, debating whether the proposed 1% pay rise is just another kick in the teeth. To put this into context, doctors’ pay has failed to keep pace with inflation for successive years, to the extent that we are now facing a 7% pay cut in real ...

On the Use of Computer Programs as Money [PDF]
Money is a technology for promoting economic prosperity. Over history money has become increasingly abstract, it used to be hardware, gold coins and the like, now it is mostly software, data structures located in banks. Here I propose the logical conclusion of the abstraction of money: to use as money the most general form of information - computer ...

The statistical distribution of money and the rate of money transference [PDF]
The distribution of money is analysed in connection with the Boltzmann distribution of energy in the degenerate states of molecules. Plots of the population density of income distribution for various countries are well reproduced by a Gamma function, confirming the validity of the statistical distribution at equilibrium.

Catch Me If You Can: Semi-supervised Graph Learning for Spotting Money Laundering [PDF]
Money laundering is the process where criminals use financial services to move massive amounts of illegal money to untraceable destinations and integrate them into legitimate financial systems. It is very crucial to identify such activities accurately and reliably in order to enforce an anti-money laundering (AML).

Non‐faradaic label‐free impedimetric determination of cortisol is demonstrated with gold nanoparticles (AuNP) functionalized laser‐induced graphene interdigitated electrodes (LIG‐IDE). The AuNP functionalized LIG‐IDE exhibits remarkable characteristics including good logarithmic linear range, high reproducibility, repeatability, and robust selectivity.

Recent empirical work on financial crises documents that crises tend to occur when macroeconomic fundamentals are weak; but even after conditioning on an exhaustive list of fundamentals, a sizable random component to crises and associated capital flows remains. We develop a model of herd behavior consistent with these observations.
