A >300 Myr Long‐Lived Topographic Highland Along the Northern North China Craton Margin Driven by Multistage Continental Convergence

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract Topographic highlands commonly develop along convergent plate boundaries through long‐term processes such as subduction and continental collision. However, the pre‐Cenozoic mountain‐building history of deep‐time orogenic systems in northeastern Pangaea remains poorly constrained due to later tectonic overprinting and denudation.

A Transboundary Air Quality Co‐Benefit of Ecological Restoration in Mongolia

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 7, 16 April 2026.
Abstract Transboundary dust storms, fueled by rampant desertification in Mongolia, pose a severe environmental threat to hundreds of millions of people and to sustainable development across East Asia. While ecological restoration is a recognized solution, its potential and cross‐boundary benefits remain unquantified at a policy‐relevant scale.
