Aging and monitoring associative learning: Is monitoring accuracy spared or impaired?
Psychology and Aging, 2002Mixed lists of associatively related and unrelated paired associates were used to study monitoring of associative learning. Older and younger adults produced above-chance levels of relative accuracy, as measured by intraindividual correlations (gamma) of judgments of learning (JOLs) with item recall.

Age Differences in Output-Monitoring Accuracy
Aging, Neuropsychology, and Cognition, 2009Output monitoring refers to memory for whether an intended action has been completed. Failures in output monitoring can lead to action repetitions or action omissions. Output monitoring is difficult for both younger and older adults, but few studies have examined age differences in output monitoring.

Classification-accuracy monitored backpropagation
[Proceedings] 1992 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003For IC diagnostic purposes, the classification accuracy of training patterns (CAT) and the classification accuracy of unseen patterns (CAU) can be used as a measure of feedforward neural network (FFN) performance. To maximize FFN generalization performance, a CAU monitored back-propagation (BP) training technique is investigated and compared with the ...

Self-Monitoring and Eyewitness Accuracy
Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, 1984It was hypothesized that subjects high in self-monitoring (Snyder, 1974) would be more accurate eyewitnesses than their low self-monitoring counterparts. To test this hypothesis, a field experiment was conducted in which 86 clerks (45 males and 41 females) in convenience stores attempted to identify confederates who had been in the stores 2 hours ...

Accuracy of a stormwater monitoring program for urban land uses
Water Environment Research, 2013ABSTRACT: This study examined the accuracy of an urban stormwater monitoring program in estimating the annual discharge load (LT) and the annual reduction rate by a stormwater treatment device (RT) for total suspended solids. A calibrated stormwater management model was used to generate the entire stormwater runoff events in one year and was used to ...

Accuracy of Physical Activity Monitors in Pregnant Women
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 2011To determine the step count accuracy of three pedometers and one accelerometer in pregnant women during treadmill walking.Participants were 30 women in the second or third trimester (20-34 wk) who were screened for pregnancy-related risk factors. Each participant was fitted with a belt containing three physical activity monitors: Yamax Digiwalker SW ...

Imagination and Source Monitoring Accuracy
Imagination, Cognition and Personality, 2000The present study was designed to explore the personal and situational determinants of the accuracy in discrimination between memories for perceived and imagined events. Three groups were administered the Creative Imagination Scale (CIS) [1]. In the first group ( N = 25) and in the second group ( N = 22), the image of three people meeting on a beach ...

The accuracy of abbreviated esophageal pH monitoring in children
Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 1984Extended (18 to 24 hour) esophageal pH monitoring establishes the diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux (GER) utilizing a pH score, and relates respiratory symptoms to GER when the mean duration of sleep reflux (ZMD) is prolonged. A disadvantage of this method is the expense of overnight hospitalization. We performed extended esophageal pH recordings in

On the Accuracy of the GPS L2 Observable for Ionospheric Monitoring
2018 2nd URSI Atlantic Radio Science Meeting (AT-RASC), 2017The introduction of the unencrypted global positioning system (GPS) L2 civil (L2C) signal has the potential to improve measurements made with the L2 frequency, an important observable in GPS-based ionospheric research and monitoring. Recent work has shown significant differences between the legacy L2P(Y) and L2C-derived total electron content rate of ...

Accuracy of smartphone application to monitor heart rate
The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness, 2019The use of smartphone applications to monitor heart rate has become increasingly popular. However, there is limited research available on the validity of these applications. The purpose of this study was to examine the accuracy of a free heart rate monitoring application on two smartphone platforms while at rest and during moderate intensity exercise ...
