Seasonal cold adaptation is vital for insect survival, yet the molecular mechanisms linking diapause to mitochondrial resilience remain largely unresolved. We identify ascaroside C9 (asc‐C9) as a key endocrine signal that enhances diapause survival during cold stress by activating the AKHR–PGC1α–UCP4 axis, thereby driving cold‐induced lipolysis and ...

Background The entomopathogenic Beauveria bassiana is a popular fungus used to control the Japanese pine sawyer, Monochamus alternatus Hope, the key vector of pine wood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus) that is the causal agent of pine wilt disease ...

Murayaquinone isolated from the pine endophyte Streptomyces sp. AN140557 exhibits potent, dose‐dependent nematicidal activity and egg‐hatching inhibition against the pine wood nematode. It effectively inhibited pine wilt disease in greenhouse tests, suggesting potential as a promising biocontrol agent.

Infection Models for Pine Wilt Disease on the Basis of Vector Behaviors
Infection models for pine wilt disease without vector density were built to estimate the transmission coefficient of the pathogenic nematode. The models successfully simulated the annual change in the density of infected trees for four pine stands. ABSTRACT Pine wilt disease is caused by the pinewood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus Steiner et ...

The morphology of larval and pupal stages of longhorn beetles is of critical importance in both evolutionary and applied contexts, often providing diagnostic characters that are inaccessible in adults. Nevertheless, the systematic utility of immature‐stage morphology has been limited by challenges in accurate species‐level identification, largely due ...

Commodity risk assessment of oak and walnut logs from the US
Abstract The European Commission submitted to the EFSA Panel on Plant Health a Dossier from the United States proposing the use of a vacuum–steam–heat treatment as a stand‐alone phytosanitary measure to mitigate the risk of entry of Bretziella fagacearum, Geosmithia morbida and its vector Pityophthorus juglandis (thousand cankers disease complex) into ...
