TIR-NBS-LRR genes are rare in monocots: evidence from diverse monocot orders [PDF]
Plant resistance (R) gene products recognize pathogen effector molecules. Many R genes code for proteins containing nucleotide binding site (NBS) and C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domains. NBS-LRR proteins can be divided into two groups, TIR-NBS-LRR and non-TIR-NBS-LRR, based on the structure of the N-terminal domain.

ABSTRACT Precise transgene‐free gene upregulation remains a challenge in crop biotechnology, as conventional enhancers often exceed CRISPR‐mediated knock‐in size constraints and face regulatory hurdles. Here we establish a foundational cross‐species resource of compact transcriptional enhancers developed via STEM‐seq, a high‐throughput screening ...

Ambiguous Dependence Of Minimal Plant Generation Time On Nuclear DNA Content [PDF]
AMBIGUOUS DEPENDENCE OF MINIMAL PLANT GENERATION TIME ON NUCLEAR DNA CONTENT Victor B. Ivanov The minimum generation time (MGT) of plant development was suggested to depend on nuclear DNA content, which varies in plants over wide limits1.

Parasitic Plant–Host Interactions: Molecular Mechanisms and Agricultural Resistance Strategies
Parasitic plants devastate global agriculture through sophisticated molecular interactions with host crops. This review synthesizes current understanding of parasitic plant‐host interactions, from strigolactone‐mediated germination and haustorium formation to host defense mechanisms.

Abstract Premise Understanding how plant populations adapt to water limitation through stomatal traits is key to predicting drought responses. The dominant C4 grass Andropogon gerardi, distributed across sharp climate gradients in North America, offers an excellent focal species to study stomatal architecture (size and density).

Stability of Barley stripe mosaic virus–Induced Gene Silencing in Barley
Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) can be used as a powerful tool for functional genomics studies in plants. With this approach, it is possible to target most genes and downregulate the messenger (m)RNA in a sequence-specific manner.
