Based on an analysis of eBird records, this study finds that the vocal patterns of tropical forest tinamous are primarily influenced by changes in daylength, with a secondary effect of precipitation. Birds sang more when days were longer or shorter than 12 h and during drier periods, especially in wetter regions.

Life History Consequences of the Prevalence of Aggressive Males Carrying Costly Weapons
Using a soil mite system with dimorphic males, that is, aggressive, weaponized fighters and benign scramblers, we experimentally selected populations for higher proportion of fighter males for 25 generations. Populations with higher proportion of fighter males evolved faster juvenile development and higher early‐life fecundity.

Nearly one in five unmarried Tanzanian women did not use a condom during their last sexual encounter. Education, parity, and sexual behavior significantly influence non‐use, highlighting the need for targeted sexuality education and empowerment interventions to improve condom uptake and reduce STI and unintended pregnancy risks.
