Taxonomy and biology of Diplozoidae (monogenea).

The study is divided into two parts. The first considers the taxonomy of species of Diplozoidae in the British Isles and the world. The second investigates the biology of Diplozoon homoion in field and experimental conditions. As a result of an extensive literature survey, the distribution of species of Diplozoidae has been assessed.

Taxonomic and morphological evaluation of the material of monogeneans parasitic in the cichlid fishes (Cichla monoculus, Cichlasoma amazonarum, Satanoperca jurupari) from the Amazon River in Peru provided new data on the occurrence of 12 species of Dactylogyridae (10 species), Gyrodactylidae (1 species) and Microcotylidae (1 species).

[Bychovskij's chief principles of Monogenea classification].
