Repurposing Hetrombopag for Multiple Myeloma by Targeting PNPO: A Celastrol‐Inspired Approach

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 138, Issue 5, May 2026.
Hetrombopag targeted PNPO to inhibit multiple myeloma. ABSTRACT Multiple myeloma (MM) is a malignancy of plasma cells whose excessive immunoglobulin production elevates reactive oxygen species (ROS), promoting pathogenesis. Active compounds from Traditional Chinese Medicine, such as celastrol, can exert antitumour effects by further increasing ROS ...

SARS‐CoV‐2 nucleocapsid protein variants have differential RNA chaperone activity

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 9, Page 2579-2598, May 2026.
The SARS‐CoV‐2 nucleocapsid (N) protein is not only the specific viral RNA packaging protein, but also acts as an RNA chaperone, facilitating RNA folding. We show that it facilitates RNA annealing through its RBD–IDR2–CTD region, identifying it as a functional RNA chaperone.

The Rice Stripe Virus p2 Interacts With Lsm1 and Disrupts the Lsm1‐Lsm4 Complex to Facilitate the Viral infection

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
RSV p2 binds Lsm1, disrupting Lsm1‐Lsm4 association and impairing decapping‐dependent mRNA decay in P‐bodies, leading to the accumulation of unstable mRNAs and enhanced RSV infection. ABSTRACT Processing bodies (P‐bodies) play central roles in RNA metabolism and in the regulation of viral infection.
