Bourn-normal monomorphisms in regular Mal'tsev categories [PDF]
Normal monomorphisms in the sense of Bourn describe the equivalence classes of an internal equivalence relation. Although the definition is given in the fairly general setting of a category with finite limits, later investigations on this subject often ...

On Monomorphisms and Subfields [PDF]
Summary This is the second part of a four-article series containing a Mizar [2], [1] formalization of Kronecker’s construction about roots of polynomials in field extensions, i.e. that for every field F and every polynomial p ∈ F [X]\F there exists a field extension E of F such that p has a root over E.

k-Spectrally monomorphic tournaments [PDF]
A tournament is $k$-spectrally monomorphic if all the $k\times k$ principal submatrices of its adjacency matrix have the same characteristic polynomial. Transitive $n$-tournaments are trivially $k$-spectrally monomorphic. We show that there are no other for $k\in \{3,\ldots,n-3\} $.

Monomorphism and heterozygosity [PDF]
A myth about the relation between monomorphism and heterozygosity is dispelled: the observed relation provided no evidence for (or against) neutral mutations.

EQUALIZERS IN THE CATEGORIES FUZZ AND TOPFUZZ [PDF]
It is well known that the categories Fuzz of fuzzes and TopFuzz of topological fuzzes are both complete and cocomplete, and some categorical properties of them were introduced by many authors.

The Favorable Allele of CAPN1-316 Genetic Marker is Absent in Bali and Sumbawa Cattle
The micromolar calcium-activated neutral protease 1 (CAPN1) gene encodes the u-calpain enzyme, which plays a crucial role in meat tenderisation. Genetic diversity within the CAPN1 gene, specifically a nucleotide substitution from G to C in exon nine ...

Monomorphisms, Epimorphisms, and Pull-Backs [PDF]
As the applications of category theory increase, we find ourselves wanting to imitate in general categories much that was at first done only in abelian categories. In particular it becomes necessary to deal with epimorphisms and monomorphisms, with various canonical factorizations of arbitrary morphisms, and with the relations of these things to such ...

On the genetic divergence of two adjacent populations living in a homogeneous habitat [PDF]
The purpose is to study the mechanisms leading to the genetic divergence, i.e. stable genetic differences between two adjacent populations coupled by migration of individuals.

Body Size Differences between Foraging and Intranidal Workers of the Monomorphic Ant Lasius niger
The association between the division of labour and worker body size of ants is typical for species that maintain physical castes. Some studies showed that this phenomenon can be also observed in the absence of distinct morphological subcastes among ...

Complex wolbachia infection dynamics in mosquitoes with imperfect maternal transmission
Dengue, malaria, and Zika are dangerous diseases primarily transmitted by Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus, and Anopheles stephensi. In the last few years, a new disease control method, besides pesticide spraying to kill mosquitoes, has been developed by ...
