In this paper, a systematic design procedure of a compact and broadband circularly polarized (CP) antenna is proposed. The antenna is first designed with a C-shaped monopole, and then a C-shaped slotted patch is utilized to produce CP radiation in the ...

f(R) global monopole revisited [PDF]
In this paper the f(R) global monopole is reexamined. We provide an exact solution for the modified field equations in the presence of a global monopole for regions outside its core, generalizing previous results. Additionally, we discuss some particular

Second Chern number of a quantum-simulated non-Abelian Yang monopole [PDF]
Going beyond the first Chern number Topological properties of physical systems are reflected in so-called Chern numbers: A nonzero Chern number typically means that a system is topologically nontrivial. Sugawa et al.

Evidence is given that some particles with large charges in gauge theories, including 4d N=4 SU(3) and 5d theories with N=1 supersymmetry, have macroscopic entropy. The ground state entropy is found to be extensive in the charges. The mass gap for excitation is estimated and is of the same order as the binding energy.

A Simple Multi-Broadband Planar Antenna for LTE/GSM/UMTS and WLAN/WiMAX Mobile Handset Applications
A simple compact low-profile multi-broadband planar antenna is proposed in this paper for LTE/GSM/UMTS and WLAN/WiMAX mobile handset applications. The proposed antenna covers multiple broad frequency bands including LTE700, GSM850, GSM900, DCS/PCS/UMTS ...

Isoscalar monopole strength function in $^{16}$O up to $E_{x}\simeq40$ MeV is discussed. We found that the fine structures at the low energy region up to $E_{x} \simeq 16$ MeV in the experimental monopole strength function obtained by the $^{16}$O ...

Acoustic Pressure Monopole, Velocity Monopole, and Hybrid Monopole
We show that there are two types of acoustic monopoles, namely the pressure monopoles (PMs) and the velocity monopoles (VMs). Under one wave incidence, only the pressure field near a PM at resonance possesses monopolar symmetry, while for a VM at resonance only the velocity field possesses monopolar symmetry.

Nonlocal active sound control for composite regions
In the active sound control problem, additional sound sources, known as control sources, are implemented at the perimeter of a protected domain. The control sources can generate secondary sound inside the shielded domain, which attenuates incoming noise. This leads to an inverse source problem.
