Fundamental Challenges, Physical Implementations, and Integration Strategies for Ising Machines in Large‐Scale Optimization Tasks

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Ising machines are emerging as specialized hardware solvers for computationally hard optimization problems. This review examines five major platforms—digital CMOS, analog CMOS, emerging devices, coherent optics, and quantum systems—highlighting physics‐rooted advantages and shared bottlenecks in scalability and connectivity.

On Dedekind's Problem: The Number of Monotone Boolean Functions [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1969
with an = ce~nli, /3„ = e'(Iog w)/«1'2.The number \p(n) is equal to the number of ideals, or of antichains,or of monotone increasing functions into 0 and 1 definable on thelattice of subsets of an «-element set Sn. Here an ideal is a collectionI of subsets such that BEI, AEB implies ^4G£ an antichain is acollection of subsets no two of which are ...

The Number of Monotone and Self-Dual Boolean Functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Informatics, 2014
Abstract In the present paper we study properties of pre-complete class of Boolean functions - monotone Boolean functions. We discuss interval graph, the abbreviated d.n.f., a minimal d.n.f. and a shortest d.n.f. of this function. Then we present a d.n.f.

Counting unate and balanced monotone Boolean functions

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
We show that the problem of counting the number of $n$-variable unate functions reduces to the problem of counting the number of $n$-variable monotone functions. Using recently obtained results on $n$-variable monotone functions, we obtain counts of $n$-variable unate functions up to $n=9$.

Physics‐Grounded Probabilistic Bits for Hardware‐Efficient Intelligent Inference and Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Si–SiNx interface traps are harnessed as a complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor‐compatible source of controllable randomness for probabilistic bits. Pulse‐width‐programmed stochastic capture converts nanoscale defect dynamics into Boltzmann‐consistent binary outputs, while a physics‐based Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis model ...

Proto‐Panic Modulation by Caffeine‐Proteinoid Complexes

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Caffeine–proteinoid microspheres synthesized by thermal polymerization exhibit compartmentalized drug loading with encapsulation efficiencies of 61%–82% and triphasic release kinetics. Electrochemical monitoring reveals multi‐scale oscillatory dynamics consistent with chaotic and damped harmonic behavior, while Boolean logic operations demonstrate ...

Approximating the noise sensitivity of a monotone Boolean function

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
The noise sensitivity of a Boolean function $f: \{0,1\}^n \rightarrow \{0,1\}$ is one of its fundamental properties. A function of a positive noise parameter $δ$, it is denoted as $NS_δ[f]$. Here we study the algorithmic problem of approximating it for monotone $f$, such that $NS_δ[f] \geq 1/n^{C}$ for constant $C$, and where $δ$ satisfies $1/n \leq δ ...

An Indicator‐Based Decision Framework for Circular Bioeconomy Transition in the Steel Industry: Integrating Multiphase Learning and Cooperative Game Modelling

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite growing attention to the circular bioeconomy (CBE), the steel industry currently lacks a standardised, sectoral measurement framework to facilitate a low‐carbon transition. In this study, a decision‐support framework for evaluating CBE performance in the steel industry is proposed.

Experimental and smoothed particle hydrodynamics‐finite element method simulation investigation of synergistic erosion mechanism of gangue‐based abrasive water jets

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study proposes an eco‐friendly coal permeability enhancement technique by utilizing mine waste gangue as an abrasive in high‐pressure water jets. Integrating erosion experiments with smoothed particle hydrodynamics‐finite element method coupled simulations, the research study elucidates the flow field dynamics and a nonlinear solid–liquid ...
