This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Some inequalities for operator monotone functions
In this paper we show that, if that the function f : [0, ∞) → 𝔾 is operator monotone in [0, ∞) then there exist b ≥ 0 and a positive measure m on [0, ∞) such that [f(B)-f(A)](B-A)==b(B-A)2+∫0∞s2[∫01[((1-t)A+tB+s)-1(B-A)]2dt]dm(s)\matrix{ {\left[ {f ...

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

This paper deals with the existence and uniqueness of mild solutions for the initial value problems of abstract impulsive evolution equations in an ordered Banach space E:u′(t)+Au(t)=f(t,u(t),Gu(t)), t∈[0,a], t≠tk, Δu|t=tk=Ik(u(tk ...

Measuring the Lack of Monotonicity in Functions [PDF]
Problems in econometrics, insurance, reliability engineering, and statistics quite often rely on the assumption that certain functions are non-decreasing. To satisfy this requirement, researchers frequently model the underlying phenomena using parametric and semi-parametric families of functions, thus effectively specifying the required shapes of the ...

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Using the Choquet integral for the determination of the anxiety degree
One considers a group S of subjects and one uses the measured values of EEG waves and the levels of anxiety given by the psychologists for the members of S in order to construct a monotone measure µ.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

The Choquet integral of log-convex functions
In this paper we investigate the upper bound and the lower bound of the Choquet integral for log-convex functions. Firstly, for a monotone log-convex function, we state the similar Hadamard inequality of the Choquet integral in the framework of distorted
