Monotone delta: an order-theoretic tournament graph approach for internal consistency assessment
This paper introduces Monotone Delta (δ), an order-theoretic measure for assessing the internal consistency of survey-based instruments. Classical coefficients such as Cronbach's Alpha and McDonald's Omega can yield misleading estimates under practical ...

On Weighted Kullback–Leibler Divergence for Doubly Truncated Random Variables
In this communication, we study doubly truncated weighted Kullback–Leibler divergence (KLD) between two nonnegative random variables. The proposed measure is a generalization of the dynamic weighted KLD introduced by Yasaei Sekeh et al. (2013).

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Piecewise Monotonic Doubling Measures
The author studies weights (\(A_p\) weights, reverse Hölder weights, and doubling weights) under the restriction of piecewise monotonicity of the density. The \(A_p\) weights control mapping properties of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator and of the Hilbert transform. The spaces are defined by \(w\in A_p\) if and only if \[ A^p_p(w)= \sup_Q \Biggl({

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Tailoring Functional Properties of Ti–Ni–Cu Shape Memory Alloy Thin Films for MEMS Actuators
A comprehensive study of critical parameters required to develop well‐performing Ti–Ni–Cu thin film shape memory alloy microactuators is provided. Materials science and device integration aspects are integrated by addressing structural and physical relationships using complementary characterization techniques as well as a practical fabrication solution

On the Monotone Measure of Correlation
Based on the notion of maximal correlation, Kimeldorf, May and Sampson (1980) introduce a measure of correlation between two random variables, called the "concordant monotone correlation" (CMC). We revisit, generalize and prove new properties of this measure of correlation. It is shown that CMC captures various types of correlation detected in measures

A monotonic measure for optimal feature selection [PDF]
Feature selection is a problem of choosing a subset of relevant features. In general, only exhaustive search can bring about the optimal subset. With a monotonic measure, exhaustive search can be avoided without sacrificing optimality. Unfortunately, most error- or distancebased measures are not monotonic. A new measure is employed in this work that is
