Electrically Insulating Electromagnetic Interference Shielding Materials: A Perspective
Developing electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials with inherent electrical insulation and high EMI shielding effectiveness is challenging but important for electronic applications. This perspective summarizes the recent advancements in designing electrically insulating EMI shielding materials and discusses the underlying mechanisms of ...

The seed pod valves of Australian Banksia attenuata plants are not simply bi‐layers which bend when dry. These experiments and models reveal complex mechanics, which allow seed release only after several steps of seed pod opening. Stiffness gradients prevent delamination of the valves during loading, and a shape‐memory function protects the seeds ...

Flow and rheology of frictional elongated grains
The rheology of a 3-dimensional granular system consisting of frictional elongated particles was investigated by means of discrete element model calculations. A homogenous shear flow of frictional spherocyliders was simulated, and a number of rheological

Generation of Two-Layer Monotonic Functions [PDF]
The problem of implementing a class of functions with particular conditions by using monotonic multilayer functions is considered. A genetic algorithm is used to create monotonic functions of a certain class, and these are implemented with two-layer monotonic functions.

This work investigates the Nernst effect in the Kagome magnet ErMn6Sn6 which exhibits both topological and anomalous Nernst effects with the anomalous Nernst coefficient reaching 1.71 µV K⁻¹ at 300 K. This value surpasses that of most canted antiferromagnetic materials, making ErMn6Sn6 a promising candidate for advancing thermoelectric devices based on

The sum of a maximally monotone linear relation and the subdifferential of a proper lower semicontinuous convex function is maximally monotone [PDF]
The most important open problem in Monotone Operator Theory concerns the maximal monotonicity of the sum of two maximally monotone operators provided that Rockafellar's constraint qualification holds. In this paper, we prove the maximal monotonicity of $A+\partial f$ provided that $A$ is a maximally monotone linear relation, and $f$ is a proper ...

Medium‐Entropy Engineering of Magnetism in Layered Antiferromagnet CuxNi2(1‐x)CrxP2S6
This study explores the aliovalent substitution strategy with Cu and Cr replacing Ni in Ni₂P₂S₆ compounds to engineer magnetism. By creating CuxNi2(1‐x)CrxP2S6 medium‐entropy alloys, the research reveals the evolution of distinct magnetic phases, including the creation of weak ferromagnetism in intermediate compositions.

Monotonic and Logarithmically Convex Properties of a Function Involving Gamma Functions
Using the series-expansion of digamma functions and other techniques, some monotonicity and logarithmical concavity involving the ratio of gamma function are obtained, which is to give a partially affirmative answer to an open problem posed by B.-N.Guo ...
