Operator monotone functions of several variables [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Inequalities & Applications 6 (2003), 1-17, 2002
We propose a notion of operator monotonicity for functions of several variables, which extends the well known notion of operator monotonicity for functions of only one variable. The notion is chosen such that a fundamental relationship between operator convexity and operator monotonicity for functions of one variable is extended also to functions of ...

Complex Oxide‐metal Hybrid Metamaterials with Integrated Magnetic and Plasmonic Non‐noble Metal Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new alloy‐oxide vertically aligned nanocomposite (VAN) thin film with two immiscible non‐noble metal elements of Co and Cu embedded in BaTiO3 (BTO) matrix is designed and fabricated, which presents interesting magnetic, ferroelectric, and optical properties.

Kolmogorov problem on classes of absolute monotone and multiple monotone functions and its connection with Markov moment problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
In this paper we solve Kolmogorov problem about existence of a function with given norms of derivatives for classes of multiple monotone functions and absolute monotone functions in the case of arbitrary number of norms. We also show the connection of Kolmogorov problem with Markov moment problem.

Compositing Effect Leads to Extraordinary Performance in GeSe‐Based Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rhombohedral GeSe is rationally designed with (GeSe)0.9(AgBiTe2)0.1‐1.5 mol.% SnSe, achieving a peak ZT of 1.31 at 623 K. Forming a composite with SnSe establishes interfaces with strong phonon scattering and weak electron scattering. Multiscale defects lead to an ultra‐low lattice thermal conductivity (0.26 W m−1 K−1), approaching the amorphous limit.

Integration of Perovskite/Low‐Dimensional Material Heterostructures for Optoelectronics and Artificial Visual Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heterojunctions combining halide perovskites with low‐dimensional materials enhance optoelectronic devices by enabling precise charge control and improving efficiency, stability, and speed. These synergies advance flexible electronics, wearable sensors, and neuromorphic computing, mimicking biological vision for real‐time image analysis and intelligent

Single Atom‐Particle Tandem Catalysis Enables Enhanced Desolvation Kinetics for Low‐Temperature Li‐S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, the tandem catalyst consisted of single Fe atom and Fe3C nanoparticles on porous carbon sheet is initially proposed and developed to facilitate the dissociation of Li(solvent)x+ to release more isolated Li+ to participate in the subsequent polysulfide redox conversions by decreasing the related barriers, contributing to fast kinetics of ...

Comment on ‘Non-monotonic projection probabilities as a function of distinguishability’

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
A recent work (Björk and Shabbir 2014 New J. Phys. http://dx.doi.org/10.1088/1367-2630/16/1/013006 16 http://dx.doi.org/10.1088/1367-2630/16/1/013006 ) claims that nonmonotonic structures found in the many-particle quantum-to-classical transition (Ra et ...
