Achalasia in monozygotic twins
Digestive Diseases and Sciences, 1982The familial occurrence of achalasia has been previously recorded and a genetic origin for the disease has been postulated. We present the first case of achalasia in monozygotic twins and suggest that concordance for the disease is consistent with a genetic factor in the etiology of achalasia.

Documenta Ophthalmologica, 1979
In a group of monozygotic twins, in which at least one of the pair squinted, strabismus was observed in both twins in only about half of the cases. Within the concordant group there was variation in the way in which the anomaly became manifest.

Monozygotic Twins with Apert Syndrome
The Cleft Palate Craniofacial Journal, 2008Apert syndrome results almost exclusively from one of two point mutations (Ser252Trp or Pro253Arg) in fibroblast growth factor receptor 2. Most patients with Apert syndrome have this as an autosomal dominant abnormality. The majority of cases are sporadic, resulting from new mutations.

Endometriosis in monozygotic twins
Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 1994Objective. To study the reproductive and medical history of monozygotic twin sisters and mothers of patients with endometriosis.Material and methods. Among 515 patients with endometriosis, eight had a monozygotic twin sister all of whom had had a gynecological laparoscopy or laparotomy. In addition, five of their mothers had had a laparotomy.

Transplantation Between Monozygotic Twins
Scandinavian Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1968After a brief review on the literature concerning transplantations between monozygotic twins, a new case is added. A 22–year-old woman with burns comprising 59% of the body surface had three transplantations of skin from her monozygotic twin sister. The total grafts corresponded to 25% of the body surface. There were 100% takes, and all the sister skin

Waldenström's Macroglobulinemia in Monozygotic Twins
Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1986ABSTRACTThis paper reports a unique familial occurrence of Waldenström's macroglobulinemia (WM) in monozygotic twins. The determination of twin monozygosity has been performed by electrophoretic and immunological typing of genetic systems (erythrocyte blood groups, leucocyte antigens and serum protein polymorphism).

Rett syndrome in monozygotic twins
American Journal of Medical Genetics, 1988AbstractThe evolution of the Rett syndrome in 29‐year‐old twin girls is presented. Evidence for monozygosity is given together with a brief account of the problems these girls posed to their family in early childhood.

Nongoitrous Cretinism in Monozygotic Twins
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1969NONGOITROUS CRETINISM is presumed to be nongenetically determined, since it usually occurs as an isolated case within a family pedigree. Recent reports of concordance for this disorder among monozygotic twins 1,2 and familial instances 1,3-5 lend some support toward a genetic etiology.

Discordant abnormalities in monozygotic twins
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1965Congenital abnormalities are more often seen in monozygotic twins, especially with a monochorionic placenta, than in dizygotic twins. Although abnormalities are more frequently concordant in monozygotic than in dizygotic twins, discordance for the abnormalities among the former is strikingly frequent.

Birdshot retinochoroidopathy in monozygotic twins
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1992Abstract Birdshot retinochoroidopathy is a rare ocular disorder which was named and delineated as a separate clinical entity by Ryan & Maumenee in 1980. We diagnosed birdshot retinochoroidopathy in a monozygotic pair of twins, who were affected with a time interval of 12 years, respectively.
