A dohányzási szokásokat befolyásoló környezeti tényezők egy- és kétpetéjű ikrek körében [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013

Speech characteristics of monozygotic twins and a same-sex sibling: an acoustic case study of coarticulation patterns in read speech [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This case study reports on an acoustic investigation of the motor speech characteristics of a set of young adult male monozygotic (MZ) twins and compares them to those of an age- and sex-matched sibling who participated in the study 2 years later to ...

Monozygotic twins with trisomy 18 of paternal origin: prenatal diagnosis and molecular cytogenetic characterization in a pregnancy with one structurally abnormal living fetus and one intrauterine fetal demise

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2012
Objective: To present prenatal diagnosis and molecular cytogenetic characterization of trisomy 18 in a monozygotic twin pregnancy, with one structurally abnormal living fetus and one intrauterine fetal demise.

Discordance in monozygotic Parkinson's disease twins – continuum or dichotomy?

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, 2019
Differences in concordance rates between monozygotic and dizygotic twin pairs with Parkinson's disease (PD) have been used to estimate genetic influences in PD pathogenesis.

Variations in genome-wide gene expression in identical twins – a study of primary osteoblast-like culture from female twins discordant for osteoporosis

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2004
Background Monozygotic twin pairs who are genetically identical would be potentially useful in gene expression study for specific traits as cases and controls, because there would be much less gene expression variation within pairs compared to two ...

Handedness in twins: meta-analyses

open access: yesBMC Psychology, 2022
Background In the general population, 10.6% of people favor their left hand over the right for motor tasks. Previous research suggests higher prevalence of atypical (left-, mixed-, or non-right-) handedness in (i) twins compared to singletons, and in (ii)

Genetic and environmental influences on sleep quality, ability to settle, and crying duration in 2‐ and 5‐month‐old infants: A longitudinal twin study

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
This study found that genetic factors largely influence crying duration and settle ability in infancy, while shared environmental factors primarily affect the number of night wakeups. Etiological influences tended to change from 2 to 5 months, reflecting a highly plastic period in infant brain development and in child‐environment interactions. Abstract

Chromosome 22q11.2 microdeletion in monozygotic twins with discordant phenotype and deletion size

open access: yesMolecular Cytogenetics, 2012
We report on a pair of male monozygotic twins with 22q11.2 microdeletion, discordant phenotype and discordant deletion size. The second twin had findings suggestive of DiGeorge syndrome, while the first twin had milder anomalies without any cardiac ...
