Discordant abnormalities in monozygotic twins

The Journal of Pediatrics, 1965
Congenital abnormalities are more often seen in monozygotic twins, especially with a monochorionic placenta, than in dizygotic twins. Although abnormalities are more frequently concordant in monozygotic than in dizygotic twins, discordance for the abnormalities among the former is strikingly frequent.

Birdshot retinochoroidopathy in monozygotic twins

Acta Ophthalmologica, 1992
Abstract Birdshot retinochoroidopathy is a rare ocular disorder which was named and delineated as a separate clinical entity by Ryan & Maumenee in 1980. We diagnosed birdshot retinochoroidopathy in a monozygotic pair of twins, who were affected with a time interval of 12 years, respectively.

Monozygotic Twins in Cattle

1954
Publisher Summary Despite the fact that more than two decades have passed since Kronacher began his studies on cattle twins, no single test or series of tests yet exists through which it would be possible to distinguish between monozygotic and dizygotic cattle twins in an objective manner.

Parkinson's disease in monozygotic twins

Annals of Neurology, 1986
AbstractRecent studies of twins have demonstrated an unexpectedly low concordance of Parkinson's disease in monozygotic twins. Only two monozygotic twin pairs concordant for it have been reported. However, both pairs were atypical because of an early age at onset and other unusual features.

Infantile Autism in Monozygotic Twins

Journal of the American Academy of Child Psychiatry, 1985
A pair of monozygotic twins concordant for early infantile autism is described. Both twins had low birth weight and postnatal cyanosis. They also suffered from epilepsy. The second twin had a lower birth weight and had to be kept in an incubator for 18 days. The twins' older brother had a history of speech delay.
