Flowering out of sync: Climate change alters the reproductive phenology of Terminalia paniculata in the Western Ghats of India

Understanding how climate change impacts the plant life cycle is critical for maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem services. Our findings suggest that Terminalia paniculata Roth, a common tropical deciduous tree species in the Western Ghats, is now flowering and fruiting at more scattered times than it used to in the past.

Simulated elephant foraging alters tree root exudation rates: Species‐specific responses and implications for belowground carbon dynamics in tropical forests

Asian elephants play crucial roles in ecosystem functioning, and their interactions with plants influence above‐ and belowground carbon cycling. Moist convection and radiative cooling: Dynamical response and scaling

The mechanism that sets the updraught velocities in deep convective clouds is studied here using cloud‐resolving model simulations in radiative–convective equilibrium. We show that, for simulations with vastly different rates of radiative cooling and surface temperatures, the buoyancy in clouds remains remarkably constant (histogram shown here).

A case study of temperature tendency mechanisms operating over northern Africa during and following midlatitude winter troughs

An Iberia‐Central Mediterranean trough sequence (7–10 February 2018) delivers anomalous low‐level temperature tendencies attributable to dynamics across most of northern Africa, with warming over northeastern Africa, especially 10–12 February into the eastern Sahel.
