Application of a modified Monte Carlo method for the simulation of heat conduction in a rectangular slab [PDF]

open access: yesMaejo International Journal of Science and Technology, 2008
Monte Carlo method has been used to study heat conduction problems. It is grid-free inimplementation, unlike the conventional Finite Element and Finite Difference Method.

SMCTC: Sequential Monte Carlo in C++

open access: yes
Sequential Monte Carlo methods are a very general class of Monte Carlo methods for sampling from sequences of distributions. Simple examples of these algorithms are used very widely in the tracking and signal processing literature.

Density estimators through Zero Variance Markov Chain Monte Carlo [PDF]

open access: yes
A Markov Chain Monte Carlo method is proposed for the pointwise evaluation of a density whose normalizing constant is not known. This method was introduced in the physics literature by Assaraf et al (2007).

Faster and Durable: A Cell‐to‐System Validation of a Low‐Degradation Fast‐Charge Protocol for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐based framework resolving graphite phase‐separation dynamics establishes a predictive, degradation‐aware fast‐charging methodology for commercial Li‐ion batteries. The resulting model‐informed protocol achieves 20%–80% state‐of‐charge in 14 min while matching the long‐term degradation of a commercial 25‐minute EV strategy.

Clock factorized quantum Monte Carlo method for long-range interacting systems

open access: yesSciPost Physics Core
Simulating long-range interacting systems is a challenging task due to its computational complexity that the computational effort for each local update is of order $\mathcal{O}(N)$, where $N$ is the size of the system.

"Style Analysis Based on a General State Space Model and Monte Carlo Filter" [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a new approach to style analysis by utilizing a general state space model and Monte Carlo filter. In particular,We regard coefficients of style indices as state variables in the state space model and apply Monte Carlo filter as ...

Phase‐Resolved Defect Transport Mechanisms Governing Asynchronous Ordering in a Eutectic High‐Entropy Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase‐resolved experiments and atomistic simulations reveal asynchronous ordering behaviors in a eutectic high‐entropy alloy during isothermal annealing. Distinct defect transport mechanisms are identified in coexisting B2 and BCC phases, showing that vacancy and interstitial mediated diffusion governs phase‐dependent thermal stability.
