Monte Carlo calculations on antiferromagnetic Ising particles
Physical Review B, 1990Antiferromagnetic particles can exhibit the phenomenon of superparamagnetism if the number of spins on the two sublattices is unequal. Monte Carlo simulations have been performed on spherical Ising particles. The magnetization and small-angle neutron scattering were calculated as a function of temperature.

Let us reconsider the problem of determining the output probability law p Y (y) from a system, when the input law has a known form P X (x). This problem was originally considered in Chapter 5. We found there that the Jacobian approach called “transformation of a random variable” did the trick.

Monte Carlo Calculations of Electron Energy Loss
Radiation Research, 1959The slowing down of electrons in water has been investigated by Monte Carlo calculations in which the slowing-down process has been considered to be continuous for individual energy losses less than various cutoff values. Calculations were performed for initial energies of 30 kev, 50 kev, and 1.5 Mev to give the case histories of the primary electrons ...

Monte Carlo Channeling Calculations
Physical Review B, 1971A Monte Carlo computer program for following the trajectories of high-energy ions in a lattice has been used to study depth dependence, half-angles, and minimum yields in channeling. The program uses the Thomas-Fermi interaction between ions and lattice atoms and gives the atoms' independent thermal displacements appropriate to the temperature of the ...

Communication: Monte Carlo calculation of the exchange energy
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2012In recent generalized Kohn-Sham (GKS) schemes for density functional theory (DFT) Hartree-Fock type exchange is important. In plane waves and grid approaches the high cost of exchange energy calculations makes these GKS considerably more expensive than Kohn-Sham DFT calculations.

Implementation of sensitivity calculations on a monte carlo experiment
Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 1983A new approach to the optimization of discrete-event dynamic systems has recently been developed (Refs. 1---4). The implementation of this approach requires answering the following question: given an observed value of the outcome of a random variable, what would have been the outcome if the parameters of the random variable had been different?

Adjoint Monte Carlo Calculations of Pulse-Height-Spectrum
Monte Carlo Methods and Applications, 1998The authors use adjoint Monte Carlo calculations for pulse-height-spectra as an example of non-Boltzmann functionals.

Monte Carlo calculation of the magnetization of super-paramagnetic particles
Solid State Communications, 1969Abstract The thermodynamics of single superparamagnetic particles is studied by means of a Monte Carlo technique which we recently derived for the calculation of compact ferromagnets [1, 2]. Using this method, an exact (numerical) calculation of the magnetization and of the internal energy of the particle is obtained. The particle consists of several
