Simulation of an aperture-based antihydrogen gravity experiment

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
A Monte Carlo simulation is presented of an experiment that could potentially determine whether antihydrogen accelerates vertically up or down as a result of earth's gravity.

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.

A Self‐Organized Liquid Reaction Container for Cellular Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
How cells restore epigenetic information lost during replication is not known. This work proposes a mechanism based on the formation of biomolecular condensates. These condensates are induced by the chromosome itself and serve as reaction vessels for reconstructing missing epigenetic markers.

CLinNET: An Interpretable and Uncertainty‐Aware Deep Learning Framework for Multi‐Modal Clinical Genomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Identifying disease‐causing genes in neurocognitive disorders remains challenging due to variants of uncertain significance. CLinNET employs dual‐branch neural networks integrating Reactome pathways and Gene Ontology terms to provide pathway‐level interpretability of genomic alterations.

A note on small-sample correction for hypothesis testing on cointegrating vectors: recursive Monte Carlo analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
This note conducts recursive Monte Carlo experiments on the Bartlett correction for a likelihood-based test on cointegrating vectors. The experiments show that the correction can reduce size distortions even in situations where regularity conditions for ...

Transient Antiskyrmion‐Mediated Topological Transitions in Isotropic Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transient antiskyrmion‐mediated pathway that drives repeated stripe‐to‐skyrmion transitions is revealed, producing a net increase in topological charge in isotropic Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction films. Experiments and simulations identify the antiskyrmion as a metastable excitation, enabling stochastic bitstream generation for probabilistic ...

Search for spontaneous muon emission from lead nuclei

open access: yes, 2005
We describe a possible search for muonic radioactivity from lead nuclei using the base elements ("bricks" composed by lead and nuclear emulsion sheets) of the long-baseline OPERA neutrino experiment.

Learned Conformational Space and Pharmacophore Into Molecular Foundational Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Ouroboros model introduces two orthogonal modules within a unified framework that independently learn molecular representations and generate chemical structures. This design enables flexible optimization strategies for each module and faithful structure reconstruction without prompts or noise.

Angular correlations in the prompt neutron emission in spontaneous fission of 252Cf

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
An experiment aiming at the detailed investigation of angular correlations in the neutron emission from spontaneous fission of 252Cf has been performed at IPHC Strasbourg using the angle-sensitive double ionization chamber CODIS for measuring fission ...
