Combinatorial targeting of G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 and cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 reveals a mechanistic role for bile acids and leukotrienes in drug‐induced liver injury

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
CHIN117 is a dual cysteinyl leukotriene receptor 1 (CYSLTR1) antagonist and G‐protein‐coupled bile acid receptor 1 (GPBAR1) agonist. In the liver, GPBAR1 and CYSLTR1 are coexpressed by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs), HSCs, circulating monocytes/macrophages, and liver resident macrophages (Kupffer cells).

Satellite-Based Rainfall Retrieval: From Generalized Linear Models to Artificial Neural Networks

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
In this study, we develop and compare satellite rainfall retrievals based on generalized linear models and artificial neural networks. Both approaches are used in classification mode in a first step to identify the precipitating areas (precipitation ...

MONTI: A Multi-Omics Non-negative Tensor Decomposition Framework for Gene-Level Integrative Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Multi-omics data is frequently measured to enrich the comprehension of biological mechanisms underlying certain phenotypes. However, due to the complex relations and high dimension of multi-omics data, it is difficult to associate omics features to ...

Nowcasting thunderstorm hazards using machine learning: the impact of data sources on performance [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, 2022
In order to aid feature selection in thunderstorm nowcasting, we present an analysis of the utility of various sources of data for machine-learning-based nowcasting of hazards related to thunderstorms.

The Fulll Monty

open access: yesDigital Humanities Quarterly, 2022
Black DH is central rather than peripheral to the field of the digital humanities and challenges the origin stories of humanities computing and its blind spots about data and white supremacy. Unfortunately the same issues about diversity and inclusivity in conferences, professional organizations, and scholarly communication remain unchanged over the ...

Vertical and Horizontal Polarization Observations of Slowly Varying Solar Emissions from Operational Swiss Weather Radars

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2014
The electromagnetic power that arrives from the Sun in the C-band has been used to check the quality of the polarimetric, Doppler weather radar network that has recently been installed in Switzerland.

Quasiconformal mappings that highly distort dimensions of many parallel lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We construct a quasiconformal mapping of $n$-dimensional Euclidean space, $n \geq 2$, that simultaneously distorts the Hausdorff dimension of a nearly maximal collection of parallel lines by a given amount.

Calibration Accuracy of the Dual-Polarization Receivers of the C-Band Swiss Weather Radar Network

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2016
The electromagnetic power that comes from the Sun has been proved to be an effective reference for checking the quality of dual-polarization weather radar receiver.

A characterisation of Alpine mesocyclone occurrence [PDF]

open access: yesWeather and Climate Dynamics, 2021
This work presents a characterisation of mesocyclone occurrence and frequency in the Alpine region, as observed from the Swiss operational radar network; 5 years of radar data are processed with a thunderstorm detection and tracking algorithm and ...
