De‐escalating radical surgery for select FIGO Stage I cervical cancer

International Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Four recent prospective trials demonstrated that de‐escalation of radical surgery for select patients with apparent low‐risk, FIGO Stage I cervical cancer does not compromise cancer‐related survival but does improve quality of life and provide the opportunity to preserve fertility.

ABSTRACT This research note aims to motivate philosophical examination of the ethical tensions surrounding ‘dark tourism’ and monuments to injustice. While such monuments function to acknowledge past wrongs, educate the public, and serve reparative functions, their presentation as tourist destinations can undermine these purposes.
