Personality, average mood and mood variability

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships between personality and mood. Within the mood realm, it is possible to identify separate higher-order dimensions of positive affect and negative affect. In addition, individuals may differ in terms of both their mean mood level and their mood variability.

The mechanism underlying the therapeutic action of mood stabilizers in bipolar disorder is not completely understood. The discovery that anticonvulsant agents, such as valproate (VPA), were effective in the treatment of bipolar disorder suggested a common biochemical mechanism(s) with lithium.

This paper shows that although Maltese has a set of morphological moods limited to two categories: an assertive mood, the Indicative, and an illocutionary mood, the Imperative; the two basic aspects of the Indicative mood can also bring modal values, which are in line with their semantics.

Our understanding of the moral psychology of screen stories is incomplete and underdeveloped unless we examine the ethical significance of moods, which are quite different than emotions.
