Beam perturbations through a MOPA chain

SPIE Proceedings, 2001
A theoretical and experimental study investigated beam perturbations on propagation through a MOPA chain, including both optical and medium influences. Analytical models are presented to explain the influence of thermal aberrations on the beam, and these effects are related directly to the change in M2 (quality factor) of the beam.

Frequency-doubled FDML-MOPA laser in the visible

Optics Letters, 2019
Wavelength-swept lasers enable high-speed measurements in absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, nonlinear Raman hyperspectral microscopy, rapid confocal microscopy, short impulse generation, and most importantly for high-speed optical coherence tomography, with speeds up to video-rate volumetric imaging.

100 kW Coherently Combined Slab MOPAs

Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics/International Quantum Electronics Conference, 2009
We are developing a 100-kW Nd:YAG cw solid-state laser system. Seven wavefrontcorrected 15-kW MOPA (master oscillator power amplifier) laser chains are phase locked to achieve a single aperture output beam with good beam quality.

Efficient longitudinally pumped Nd:YLF MOPA system

CLEO/Europe. 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe, 2005., 2006
In this paper, we report on an end-pumped, actively Q-switched master-oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) system using Nd:YLF laser at 1053 nm, achieving a pulse energy of 20 mJ.

Fiber-MOPA sources of coherent radiation

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences, 2010
This paper presents the concept and design of medium to high power fiber radiation sources in MOPA (Master Oscillator Power Amplifier) configuration. Research results are presented on a two-stage power amplifier for MOPA applications for the third telecommunications window at 1550 nm based on active erbium-doped and erbium/ytterbium-doped fibers.

M2 of MOPA CuBr Laser Radiation

Optical and Quantum Electronics, 2007
The beam propagation factor, M2 of the master-oscillator power-amplifier (MOPA) CuBr laser emission compliant with ISO 11146 is studied methodically. Statistical parameters of 2D intensity profile of the near and far fields of MOPA laser radiation are measured by a beam analyzing technique as functions of timing delay between MO and PA.

Hybrid fiber MOPA-bulk amplifier system

CLEO Pacific Rim Conference, 2018
We report on a hybrid fiber MOPA + solid-state amplifier. The maximum average power from a solid-state amplifier was 10.9 W, and the maximum peak power was 1.0 MW with the spectral width of 0.07 nm.

High-repetition-rate single-frequency Ho:YAG MOPA system

Applied Optics, 2018
A stable, 2.09 μm single-frequency Ho:YAG master oscillator and power amplifier (MOPA) system at a pulse repetition frequency of 1.25 kHz is demonstrated. The maximum output energy of the single-frequency injection-seeded laser is 13.76 mJ, and the corresponding pulse width is 178.9 ns.

Single-Frequency Er3+ Doped Phosphate Fiber MOPA

2019 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe & European Quantum Electronics Conference (CLEO/Europe-EQEC), 2019
Single-frequency Er3+ doped fiber amplifiers in MOPA configuration are promising candidates to fulfil the challenging requirements of laser sources at 1.5 μm for the third generation of interferometrie gravitational wave detectors (GWDs) [1]. An all-fiber design ensures excellent beam quality, stability and reliability compared to bulk concepts ...
