Krypton retention on solid adsorbents. [Activated alumina; hydrogen mordenite, silver mordenite, sodium mordenite, cerium mordenite-H, cerium mordenite-Na, potassium mordenite-H, potassium mordenite-Na] [PDF]
An experimental laboratory program was conducted to develop economical solid adsorbents for the retention of krypton from a dissolver off-gas stream. The study indicates that a solid adsorbent system is feasible and competitive with other developing systems which utilize fluorocarbon absorption nd cryogenic distillation.

Dealumination of mordenite zeolite and its catalytic performance evaluation in m-xylene isomerization reaction [PDF]
Mordenite zeolite with Si/Al = 18 was successfully synthesized by the hydrothermal method. This zeolite was modified by partially dealuminated in HNO3 at 70 °C. Our analysis showed that the surface area of modified mordenite was increased more than that

Diagenetic mordenite from Ponza, Italy
Diagenetically altered rhyolitic rocks consisting of major mordenite and minor cristobalite and smectite occur beneath a thick (about 90 m) smectite-rich layer in an abandoned quarry at Cala Fontana, in the northwestern part of the Ponza Island (Thyrrenian Sea, Gulf of Gaeta). The structure of the mordenite was refined by full-profile Rietveld analysis

Dual Chemical Looping/Catalytic Process for Alkylation of Benzene With Ethane and Propane Yielding Ethylbenzene and Cumene Over Copper-Containing Mordenite. [PDF]
We report a dual chemical looping/catalytic process coupling alkane dehydrogenation with aromatic alkylation over Cu‐mordenite, yielding up to 25% alkylated aromatics with >95% selectivity per cycle. In situ NMR, FTIR spectroscopy, and DFT show alkylation proceeds via a π‐bound Cu(I)–olefin intermediate and Brønsted acid sites.

Post-treated mordenite membranes were prepared using sucrose (C12H22O11) as a carbon precursor to block any pinholes and defects in the zeolite layer. The pervaporation (PV) process was used to separate ethanol from the water.

Characterization of Fibrous Mordenite: A First Step for the Evaluation of Its Potential Toxicity
In nature, a huge number of unregulated minerals fibers share the same characteristics as asbestos and therefore have potential adverse health effects. However, in addition to asbestos minerals, only fluoro-edenite and erionite are currently classified ...
