Crossover from Reptation to Rouse dynamics in the Extended Rubinstein-Duke Model [PDF]
The competition between reptation and Rouse Dynamics is incorporated in the Rubinstein-Duke model for polymer motion by extending it with sideways motions, which cross barriers and create or annihilate hernias. Using the Density-Matrix Renormalization-Group Method as solver of the Master Equation, the renewal time and the diffusion coefficient are ...

Extrinsic heart compression by gastrointestinal (GI) structures is an often underrecognized finding in clinical practice. It is potentially related to unpredictable clinical conditions, ranging from incidental detection in asymptomatic subjects, to deranging and potentially life‐threatening clinical manifestations.

A rare case of Morgagni hernia associated with cor triatriatum
The Morgagni hernia is a rare congenital disorder that is often associated with other anomalies such as congenital heart disease. We present here a case of Morgagni hernia with concomitant cor triatriatum, both of which were repaired in one operation via

Laparoscopic-assisted repair of Morgagni hernia in children
Background Morgagni hernia (MH) is a rare diaphragmatic hernia with nonspecific symptoms and variable presentation. MH is managed surgically via laparotomy or a thoracotomy. Recently, laparoscopy was described for the repair of MH.

Robotic approach to Morgagni-Larrey hernia in pediatric surgery: a case report
Morgagni-Larrey hernias represent a subgroup of Congenital diaphragmatic hernias (CDHs), involving the anterior part of the muscle. They are complex developmental defects often representing a diagnostic and treatment challenge for both pediatricians and ...

A Morgagni hernia was found in a 53-year-old male patient during a laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedure. The hernia was closed using a direct suturing technique. The hernial sac was not excised. A 12-month follow-up showed no hernia recurrence.

Self-organising maps in the analysis of strains of human abdominal wall to identify areas of similar mechanical behaviour [PDF]
The study refers to the application of a type of artificial neural network called the Self-Organising Map (SOM) for the identification of areas of the human abdominal wall that perform in a similar mechanical way. The research was based on data acquired during in vivo tests using the digital image correlation technique (DIC).

A review of Morgagni and Bochdalek hernias in adults [PDF]
The incidence of Bochdalek and Morgagni hernias among adults is very rare. The purpose of this study was to determine retrospectively the prevalence and characteristics of adult Bochdalek and Morgagni hernias in a decade. Consequently, we demonstrated 12
